Regional network

Chemie-Cluster Bayern was established as one of 19 sector clusters as part of the Bavaria Cluster Offensive. In addition to this pillar of statewide business promotion, there are regional initiatives of regional management and business promotion as a further main pillar of Cluster Offensive Bavaria.

Regional management and cluster management belong together

The support of regional initiatives is an important cluster task in order to be able to maintain the innovative power and competitiveness of the Bavarian chemical industry at its excellent level. This includes, for instance, the area of support for entrepreneurs: in particular spin-offs in the scientific area often rely on pre-structured access to industrial networks, consulting and financing options. For this reason, Chemie-Cluster Bayern cooperates with entrepreneurial initiatives and business plan competitions.

For the innovative capacity of local research and development cluster, issues of location quality are as equally crucial as targeted knowledge transfer, the efficient networking of state- and nationwide development associations as well as international marketing. Chemie-Cluster Bayern helps to identify and link innovative know-how carriers, moderates project groups and acquires public funding by the background of its strong network association. As part of events and learning networks on site, we support, in particular, the exchange of small- and medium-sized companies with scientific facilities.

Cooperation examples with regions: Regen

In cooperation with Regen regional management companies are successfully advised, for instance on the options of promoting research – we have already been able to jointly develop some draft projects with Chemie-Cluster Bayern. In particular, the direct context, the simple and uncomplicated handling, and the fast access to companies on site are core topics of cooperation.

After the first joint event on the topic of subsidies, it was possible to offer two companies from the district with tailor-made advice in line with their needs on the topic of research and development promotion.

Cooperation examples with regions: Straubing

Straubing is connected with Chemie-Cluster Bayern by chemistry of renewable resources and their substance as well as by energy usage. In cooperation with the region of renewable resources Straubing, it has already been possible to initiate joint innovation topics with the local companies and research institutions. In Straubing, leading scientific and technology institutions for renewable resources are combined: the academic pillar is represented by the Straubing science centre, technical implementation infrastructure is provided by entrepreneur centre, the industry park Straubing-Sand with its port and the Bio-Cubator. Chemie-Cluster Bayern, Straubing science centre and the Bio-Cubator Straubing-Sand are preparing joint symposiums about alternative fossil and biogene raw material sources for energy and substance use.
