Profil

Die BioM WB GmbH wurde im Juni 2008 eigens zur systematischen Förderung der Weißen Biotechnologie in Bayern gegründet. Sie ist das Ergebnis einer stabilen und starken "public-private partnership", der von öffentlicher Seite das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) und das Bayerische Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Infrastruktur, Verkehr und Technologie (StMWIVT) sowie von industrieller Seite die global operierenden Chemiekonzerne Süd-Chemie AG und Wacker-Chemie AG angehören.

Eine der Kernaufgaben der BioM WB GmbH liegt im administrativen Management des überregionalen Netzwekprojektes "Industrielle Prozesse mit biogenen Building Blocks und Performance Proteinen"(IBP). Dieses Projekt erhielt Mitte 2007 einen Preis im Rahmen des BMBF-Wettbewerbs "BioIndustrie2021" und wird seitdem durch das BMBF gefördert. IBP ist ein Teil des thematisch breiter aufgestellten Netzwerkes der BioM WB.

BioM WB was founded in June 2008 to systematically support Industrial ("White") Biotechnology in Bavaria. Our company is the result of a solid and strong public private partnership between the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF), the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology and the two globally operating companies Süd-Chemie AG and Wacker-Chemie AG.
Currently, one of our core assignments is the administrative and co-ordinative management of the multiregional network "Industrial Processes with Biogenic Building Blocks and Performance Proteins - IBP". In 2007, the proposals of the network IBP were awarded price money in the context of the competition of BMBF "BioIndustry2021". IBP is part of "Network BioM WB", which has a thematically wider scope.

Zu unseren Hauptaufgaben zählen Netzwerkbildung, Technologietransfer, Wirtschaftsförderung, Offentlichkeitsarbeit und Interessenvertretung im Bereich der Weißen Biotechnologie.

Our chief assignments are the enlargement of our network, technology transfer, promotion of economic development, public relations and lobbying in the area of industrial (white) biotechnology.
